What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapists have used hypnosis as a tool for positive change and healing for thousands of years.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation of both mind and body while a state of heightened awareness is maintained. It is a completely normal, natural state that we experience every day of our lives, similar to the feeling of daydreaming, like that feeling we have upon awakening – we are aware of sounds around us but just can’t be bothered to move or open our eyes, wanting to stay safe & warm under the duvet. When we are in this state, our mind is much more receptive to suggestions.

Hypnosis is not a therapy in itself. It is the actual therapeutic intervention that takes place during hypnosis that holds the key to success.
Whilst in this state, the subconscious mind can be very receptive to beneficial suggestions and accept direction, promoting change and freeing you from your unwanted habits or behaviour.

Hypnotherapy – What to Expect

During the initial free consultation session, we will go into detail about what’s troubling you currently, and clarifying how you would like to be different, Often the initial consultation can produce significant change as many aspects of the problem are drawn out of your unconscious awareness and you can begin to imagine a future ahead that’s free from it.  We may not undertake any hypnotherapy techniques at the first meeting.

Between the first and second meeting, I will analyse your situation and identify the most appropriate techniques for us to work with which will be tailored specifically to you.

Therapy sessions last around 60 minutes but I do not charge extra if our sessions go over and will ensure you are not rushed so you can gain the maximum benefit from our time together.
